Accreditation
The Don Monti Cancer Center at Huntington Hospital
has been accredited by the American College of
Surgeons' (ACOS) Commission on Cancer for meeting
the highest standards for cancer diagnosis, treatment,
and support services.
This accreditation is granted to institutions
that comply with rigorous national criteria and
indicates that a hospital has committed significant
resources to the best possible care, education,
and research. Only one hospital in four qualifies
for the Commission's approval.
The Commission on Cancer is composed of Fellows
of the American College of Surgeons and representatives
from 26 other cancer-related organizations. It
sets standards of excellence for hospital and
freestanding programs and promotes the multidisciplinary
cooperation among cancer specialists that is
a hallmark of the Don Monti Cancer Center at
Huntington Hospital.
