Electrophysiology

POSITION: ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY NURSE PRACTITIONER

HOURS: Part - Time, flexible hours 0700-1800 hrs. Monday, Wednesday & Friday, potential on call and weekends.

EDUCATION: Registered Professional Nurse - NYS licensure. Nurse Practitioner Adult Health or Acute Care required. MSN and ACLS required.

JOB SUMMARY: The Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with the Director of Arrhythmia Services. He/she will access arrhythmia service patients in the outpatient as well as the inpatient setting. He/she will assist in the care of patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures including invasive and no-invasive electrophysiology studies as well as implantation of cardiac devices throughout the patient's course of treatment. The nurse practitioner will also be responsible for following patients in the Device Clinic, including interrogation in ICD and permanent pacemakers. He/she will also participate in clinical research studies as well as participation in future expansion of the program.

REQUIREMENTS: Experience with Interrogation and programming of Cardiac Implantable Devices preferred. Experience in the electrophysiology lab preferred. Five years Critical Care/Cardiology experience required. Outstanding interpersonal skills with a sense of humor. Demonstrated ability to think critically and speak and write well. Knowledge of changing healthcare requirements. Excellent work ethic with outstanding attendance. Enthusiasm for hospital mission. Demonstrated interest in patient education.
