POSITION: PHLEBOTOMIST
HOURS: Per Diem (on call) rotating holiday coverage required.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
DESCRIPTION: Individual will be responsible for drawing blood specimens for all requested laboratory tests on both inpatients and outpatients, accepting blood work through computer and delivering blood specimens to appropriate lab departments.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational school training preferred. Previous Phlebotomy experience is required. Previous experience in a hospital preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Service Excellence skills a must.

POSITION: MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST NIGHT SHIFT SUPERVISOR
HOURS: Full - Time, night shift, Tuesday - Saturday with rotating holidays.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences.
DESCRIPTION: This individual is responsible for the management and supervision of the Laboratory's night shift technical personnel including Chemology, Blood Bank Technologists, Phlebotomists and Accessioners. The Night Shift General Laboratory Supervisor works in conjunction with Section Supervisors to ensure accuracy and precision of all testing performed during the shift. The Supervisor oversees the reporting of laboratory findings, performs tests requiring special scientific skills and assumes administrative responsibilities on the shift (in absence of the Laboratory Administrative Director). The supervisor demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times, helps coordinate the efforts of the laboratory staff as needed and works closely with Laboratory Managers, Pathologists and other section supervisors, nursing staff, physicians and patients to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of age-related care, and the production of accurate laboratory data and meaningful information.
REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences required. Licensed by NYS DOH as a clinical laboratory technologist with six years experience in clinical laboratory, Hematology, Chemistry and Blood Bank required. Good Customer Service skills are a must.

POSITION: Medical Technologist
HOURS: Per Diem, alternating weekends on day shift (6:30am-2:30pm and/or 7:00am-3:00pm) rotating holidays required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences required.
DESCRIPTION: Individual will perform various chemical and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis. Also responsible for recording laboratory test results.
REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences required in a addition to being ASCP-MT eligible with one years experience as a Medical Technologist. New York State License or limited permit required. Blood Bank experience is required. Good Customer Service skills are a must.

POSITION: LABORATORY ASSISTANT
HOURS: Full Time Evening Shift (rotating weekends & holidays) Weekdays 3pm-11pm, Weekends/Holidays 2pm-10pm
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
DESCRIPTION: The Lab Assistant performs clerical tasks, registers outpatients, accessions and processes specimens. Work includes, but is not limited to, order entry verification, order and collection requirements inquiries, specimen labeling with barcode labels, specimen accessioning into the LIS, specimen distribution, generation and distribution of test reports, faxing, photocopying, filing, records storage and retrieval, processing telephone calls, scheduling outpatient appointments, and phlebotomy notification via telephone/Vocera etc. Performs phlebotomy on outpatients.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. One year's training at a vocational school or one year of college courses in chemistry or biology preferred. Typing/computer experience and knowledge of computer data entry, record keeping and medical terminology required. Training in phlebotomy required. Clinical experience in a physician's office or other laboratory is preferred. Good Customer Service skills are a must.
