Huntington Hospital
  The Power of People

Kevin LawlorThere is only one thing that separates a good hospital from a great hospital; that distinguishes adequate medical care from extraordinary medical care; that can make the difference between getting better and truly achieving renewed health. That critical element is not the size of a facility, its location, or even the technology it contains. The most important factor that contributes to an outstanding healthcare facility is people. At Huntington Hospital, our people are in the business of making a difference. Their compassion, knowledge, experience and commitment is unparalleled. They take the raw ingredients that make up a hospital – the physical environment, the medical technology – and create an exceptional experience of care for our patients. And each and every day, no matter how well they are doing, they try to do it all a little bit better than the day before.
It is only through the collaborative efforts of more than 2,000 people – many of them your friends and neighbors – that Huntington has become one of Long Island’s leading community hospitals. There is power that comes from so many people – physicians, nurses, technologists, dietitians, pharmacists, physical therapists, maintenance workers, information management specialists, finance workers, clerks, housekeepers, security officers, human resource specialists, volunteers, the list goes on and on – working together toward one common goal…your good health.

As a not-for-profit community hospital, we know that even with this dedicated cadre of employees, trustees, affiliated physicians and volunteers, we would still fall short of accomplishing all of our goals. That is why we turn to the community, to individuals, corporate citizens, and foundations, to lend their financial support to our hospital. Government and insurance company reimbursement for our services is simply not sufficient to cover our spiraling expenses, and the state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technology that is the hallmark of advanced medical care is prohibitively expensive. We are so appreciative that we can rely on our many friends and supporters who partner with us in these endeavors.

You epitomize the words of Japanese poet Ryunosuke Satoro who wrote, “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.”
