The Medical Board (Medical
Executive Committee) consists of the Chief of Staff,
the Clinical Department Chiefs, the President and Vice
President of the Medical Staff and three additional
physicians who are members of the Active Medical
Staff.
This is a body of respected medical leaders who serve Huntington Hospital on
a voluntary basis. Together, they carry out important oversight functions for
the Medical Staff. The M.E.C. reports to the Board of Directors on such matters
as the credentialing of new physicians, the granting of clinical privileges in
the wide range of specialties represented at Huntington Hospital, and new or
expanded programs in such areas as Oncology, Cardiology, Surgical services, Perinatology
and many others. Foremost among their responsibilities is meticulous attention
to quality of care in the pursuit of clinical excellence for our patients and
the Huntington community that we serve. |
