Registered Nurses in the Radiology Department at Huntington
Hospital are specially trained in state-of-the-art
procedures formerly done in the operating room. Nurses
work as a team with doctors and technologists to provide
many interventional radiology procedures on a routine
basis.
Nurses are responsible for educating patients and
families about their tests, assessing patients, and
giving medications. They also provide patient education
prior to the procedure and provide expertise as part
of the team during each case.
Radiology nurses continue to learn as the field expands.
RNs in the department have achieved national certification,
as well as bachelors and masters degrees as evidence
of their commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
During the course of the patient’s visit to the
Radiology Department at Huntington Hospital, nurses
provide the highest standard of care.
