FATHERS ARE WELCOME BETWEEN THE
HOURS OF 9:00 AM AND 10:00 PM
VISITING
HOURS: 1 PM TO 8 PM
- As
part or our family-centered care philosophy,
we encourage sibling and grandparent visitation.
- A maximum of 4 visitors per patient will
be allowed to visit at the bedside.
- Children under the age of 12, who are
not the brother or sister of the infant,
are not permitted
to visit on the Maternity unit.
- Please understand that it may be necessary
to limit excessive visiting to promote
the needed rest after childbirth,
and to provide
adequate time for educational opportunities.
- Mothers’ and babies’ safety and
well-being is our first responsibility.
- If an extenuating circumstance
arises and this time period is
not convenient
for a family
member, please speak with the
Nurse Manager or her designee so
an alternative
time
can be arranged for visiting.

INFECTION
CONTROL GUIDELINES FOR VISITATION:
(Please refer
to the outline below to ensure the health and
safety of your newborn)
- No
child or adult with a fever or symptoms of
a communicable disease, including upper respiratory
tract infection, diarrhea, or any skin rash
will be allowed to visit.
- No child or adult who has been recently
exposed to a known communicable disease
(i.e. sibling’s
classmate came down with the chicken pox or
viral illness) will be allowed to visit
- The sibling visit will be limited to the
mother’s
room only and the child will be supervised
by an adult at all times.
- Anyone coming into contact with mother
or baby must carefully wash their hands!
Since
most
infections are transmitted by hand contact,
diligent hand washing is essential!
